Meeting with Africa CDC and its interim director Dr. Ahmed OUMA at ANRS | MIE
During an institutional visit to France, a delegation from Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) led by its interim director met with the representatives of our agency on 4 April 2023 to discuss the joint actions to take and the prospects for collaboration.

The directors drew parallels between two flagship initiatives of the two institutions: the genome surveillance project AFROSCREEN, involving several French operators and African laboratory networks under the coordination of the agency; and the Africa Pathogen Genomics Initiative, driven by the Africa CDC Institute of Pathogen Genomics at continental level. Also discussed were avenues to reinforce the activities already carried out jointly within this framework and improve their coordination.
