The AFROSCREEN network will be meeting in Dakar on May 29 and 30, 2024 for the regional symposium “A genomic surveillance network for emerging pathogens”.

This will be an opportunity to showcase AFROSCREEN’s role in strengthening genomic
AFROSCREEN’s role in strengthening genomic surveillance capacities in Africa, its involvement in the “One Health” approach, and its support for networked, integrated genomic surveillance in the investigation of epidemics.

The symposium will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the role of microbial genomics surveillance in national integrated surveillance systems, and the contribution of the AFROSCREEN network to Africa CDC’s policy of pan-African surveillance of infectious diseases.
